Site purpose and philosophy
As a graphic-resource site, Celestial Star is focused in three main points:
- Provide artists quality resources on a variety of themes to help them create graphics, layouts, etc.
- Give artists a place to promote their work and sites through the submissions or simply give the opportunity to offer their works to the public if they don't own a site.
- Provide people that do not have the knowledge and/or time to make their own layouts or graphics, a wide range of very good pre-made ones they can use for free.
The resources here are those I use myself: some of them were actually done for me, to use them for a layout or graphic, but I like a lot sharing them. Others were done just to offer them, but I still do use them myself. I have a lot of new ideas (specially for brushes) but I just need the time to make all those.
I want this site to be somewhere you would be proud of having your layouts or avatars offered, because it would mean they're well-designed: cross-browser compatibility, valid coding, user-friendlyness, originality and overall beauty are things I care about.
Seeing my layouts used by other people (correctly, that is) makes me extremely happy, because that's what they're designed for: their use, and inspiration.
This site is one of the things I appreciate most (apart from family, friends, etc. of course). I've encountered a passion and learned a whole lot, from static HTML to PHP, XHTML, MySQL, a bit of SEO, etc. I still enjoy learning more about web development and digital design.
